What To Expect

Lindy Fridays is a friendly and welcoming class for people to learn to dance Lindy Hop. You pay on the door and it’s £5 for the whole evening, which includes a beginners class, improvers class and time to socialise and dance.

You’ll be asked to pick a role to dance; Lead or Follow. We don’t mind which role you take at all, and feel free to decide when you arrive. More info about lead/follow roles. We rotate partners during the class so you don’t need to bring a partner.

The improvers class is first and assumes you know the basic shape and rhythm of a social dance and will tackle more in-depth techniques and complicated moves.

The beginners class starts from the basic rhythms and footwork every week, then you’ll learn a few moves based on those rhythms. After the beginners class there’s ~40mins to chat and dance with everyone.

How To Find Us

The class is held in Room 1 of The Carriageworks Theatre which is on Millennium Square in Leeds City Centre. LS2 3AD. Room 1 is on the second floor where the walls are painted blue, Turn left after the stairs and follow the signs for Room 1. The theatre is not far from the train station, about an 8min walk. There is plenty of street parking nearby on Great George Street and surrounding area. Parking will cost you £3.35 between 6-10pm.

You can get your very own Lindy Fridays T-Shirt on the desk at a regular Lindy Fridays for £10, or if we don’t have your size left directly from Picture The Print in Leeds city centre.

You can email info@picturetheprint.com with the subject line ‘Lindy Fridays’ and let them know your required size, it’s £10 if you collect in store or £4.50 extra for them to mail it to you.
